WINE TIME – Ruggero Di Bardo Susumaniello

Hi everyone! Well it’s the weekend and I am excited to tell you about this fabulous wine because it is a keeper!

I present to you Susumaniello (pronounced sue-sue-man-yell-oh). This rare grape is exclusively grown in Southern Italy, in the long narrow region of beautiful Puglia, also known as the heel of Southern Italy’s “boot”. Its name in Roman means “lack of rain”. Puglia is known for its olive oil but has become popular for being the home of grape growers. Salice Salento area, and in a tiny number of vineyards around Brindisi is where you will find this gem growing.

Susumaniello is a wonderful full, fruitful, slightly sweet, mouth-watering wine. Its deep red color is an example of what you expect the taste will be. Red ripe berries, rich plums, a slight smoky oak taste, and ever so soft and smooth dark chocolate at the ending.  Alcohol percentage is a whopping 14.5!!

This gorgeous, sexy and classy wine is powerful! The fact that I bought it at Trader Joes at the crazy price of $9.99 is beyond amazing. I plan to stock up on this one and see how it ages.

So, what is my advise to you? GO GET IT ASAP!!! You will not be disappointed.

Let me know what your thoughts are of this wine if you tried it.

Until next time…..xoxo
